Hotell Havsbaden uses camera surveillance to increase security, and prevent vandalism and other crimes such as robbery and assault.
Does the hotel take sufficient account of privacy and information security issues?
The issue of privacy is decisive in matters relating to camera surveillance. The hotel's assessment is that the problem picture where camera surveillance takes place requires this type of effort.
Within the framework of the camera surveillance, the hotel takes several measures to take the individual's privacy into account as much as possible. The material is used, for example, in police crime-fighting.
How do you know if you are in an area where cameras are filming?
There is an information obligation in connection with camera surveillance. Signs in several places in each area or in the place that is monitored by cameras inform you that you are in a monitored area and where you can get more information.
Where are the cameras located – indoors or outdoors?
Based on balance of interests, the cameras are placed indoors.
Who has access to the image material?
Only a few authorized employees have access to the recorded material. The recordings are stored on Secits AB's own servers, protected against intrusion and unauthorized access to the data.
The recordings from the cameras are normally saved for 30 days. If an event occurs where the recording is needed, a certain sequence can be saved longer. Sound cannot be recorded in the camera surveillance.
Can the image material be disclosed to others?
Recorded visual material is covered by the Publicity and Confidentiality Act (2009:400). This means that material from camera surveillance can be classified. Image material can be handed over to certain authorities, for example the police, in case of suspicion of crime.
